Huntington Beach Pier 1/5

Slow fishing. Got to the pier at 6:30 am, I believe close to the start of incoming tide. I started off fishing a baited sabiki with a float a little past the bait shop. I quickly caught one jacksmelt. Afterwards, fishing was extremely slow. I don't remember the exact height but there were reasonably large swells that caused a lot of grief to the "professionals" and their many hook rigs. Otherwise, there was very little wind and it was a pleasant morning. I left at 9 once I got tired of standing around and catching nothing.
