I was wondering about hooping on the mainland piers.

Several piers restricted their hours during Covid and no longer allow fishing at night after 10 p.m. or midnight, i.e., the Oceanside Pier. That restricts the hooping to some degree as well as the fishing for sharks at night. Most anglers I have talked to do not believe the hours will ever be changed back to allow fishing 24 hour a day.
