Going to a meeting in Santa Cruz Tuesday-Thursday and hope to hit Seacliff, Capitola and the Santa Cruz Wharf on my way up Monday. Anyone been to those piers lately — and if so, recommendations?

Oh I was just there last week. Santa Cruz Wharf. I was catching perch right across from Marianis candy store at abt 10pm- 12am. You gotta stop in & see Chris. He always has all the daily details!

Ya i used to just start driving & go all over CA fishing & not come home for weeks. Then 2 days later I would leave again. Then I ran out of $ & had to get a job.....sigh. It was fun while it lasted. No regrets!

Cement ship pier is fenced off even further back than it used to be. You can barely get out of the surf on the pier now.

Been to all three several times this summer.
Lots of bait available, used sabikis to catch anchovies from the SC pier and then used for live bait catching everything from Grassies to small Ling's. Perch were all over , using small white Gulp grubs or cut grubs from squid . The sea mammal population at all places seams to have decreased , most notably at the Santa Cruz pier.
Have fun!

How was the fishing Ken? And where are the reports?
I would have gone if I wasn’t working. I haven’t been in over a year to Santa Cruz or Capitola Piers.

I will be doing a report later today. Short report — slow fishing but still a fun time. Best — Monterey Coast Guard Pier. Worst — Seacliff. But I was very, very, very tired when I got home. Slept terrible the entire week for some reason (or should I say didn't sleep the whole week).
