Yesterday on Balboa Pier the bait was every where and included Spanish Mackerel. Maybe that is a sign we are going to get some yellowtail with this El Niño like before. Anyway I used a lot of Spanish Mackerel. Landed a 40 inch Shovelnose Guitarfish and had two great strikes from heavy halibut I am sure. Finally about 3 o'clock I got my big halibut. It was straight down. It was 30 inches and 10 pounds. What a wonderful sight to see coming up from the bottom.
