Expensive fish

I was researching some expensive surf rods (already have too many, but there is always that little niche) when I came across this video from 2016. Guy is fishing a Megabass Pangea shadow (really nice rod) which costs about $900.00 today, if you can find one. I guess if you spend that much on your rod size limits don't apply, eh?

Bonus points if you recognize Daly city beaches and can identify the guy flashing his face at the end :)

If somebody working hard and could afford such rod, I just glad for him!
It is not about price of fish!
He could refuse himself for cruse or some other luxury stuff... He is just happy because dream become true.
Do you have a dreams and could sacrifice by something to fulfill them?

I'm sorry, I should have been more direct. I love expensive surf rods and have many. I thought it would be immediately apparent that in the video the guy catches an undersized striper and immediately throws it in his pouch, no measurement. Poaching is often defended by claiming fishing for food or ignorance. This guy can afford gear that most can't and has no excuse for not knowing better. Then he posts a video about his sweet surf rod to youtube showing his poaching!? To me it was a bit ironic, and I thought it would be a good reminder about knowing the regs. (This does not deny the fact I love that Megabass Pangea surf rod ;)

How is long yours Rockaway? I've bought yesterday 9' but didn't tried yet... I'm impressed how light that rod with ability to cast 2oz weight. Any idea: how big weight it is allowing to lift up? Sometimes, when sea lion chasing yours striper, you have to catapult the fish on the pier...

I got the 1' with the Line Rating of 8-17lb and a Max Lure Weight of 2oz and paired it with a Sz40 Okuma Alaris Reel loaded with bright green Reaction Tackle 20# Braid.......This combo LAUNCHES a 2oz torpedo sinker believe me......

I will likely bet getting the 12' with the 15-25lb Line Rating and the Max Lure Weight of 4oz at some point in the near future and will pair it with an Okuma Alaris Sz55 Reel loaded with Blaze Orange Reaction Tackle 40# Braid

Whoops! Aargh, my wife would appreciate the irony of this, she has always claimed I lose my faculties when looking at gear. That and put my glasses on, sigh. My apologies o_O

Build your own rod if you want to spend a lot of money.
