The weather was really nice for the opener (by Pacifica standards). Same results as always there. Lots of shorts, mostly females, many with eggs. I managed 1 keeper male and was happy with that. I'd say it was indeed much more crowded this year. I picked a less than ideal spot but I was jammed in there and lines were crossed various times. Problem is some people don't know to tighten up their lines and they drift too much even though the current didn't seem that bad. I need more snares. Is Sofa King and his fine snares still around somewhere?
