Chase Center Halibut

Nice. I didn’t realize the Chase Center was built right behind Agua Vista Pier. I used to be there quite a bit in the past as Big Rich McIntosh used to live right up the street from there on Missouri. Sometimes sketchy at night, but probably not now with the new lights and new buildings. Probably a ton more traffic there now on game night there and ATT Park (or whatever they’re calling it now).

Nice, I know every once in a while those locals will pull up a hali or striper using live shiners. Cool pier but its size make it difficult to fish when there are multiple fisherman.

With a long rod, you can cast far enough from the surrounding rocks.
The issue with that is the multiple lines in the water already. I've upset a few guys on the pier by doing that since they didnt like that I was casting from the rocks. I no longer fish there if its occupied so I move around the area, a lot of "sketchy" spots for most people but if you grew up around there its fine.

I've never had a problem fishing there at night (as far as anyone bothering me). when I did with BigRich McIntosh. One night, maybe 10 years ago, someone took a (dump) right in the middle of the pier as Rich and I walked on. He warned me right as I was walking on and we didn't fish there that night. Probably not as sketchy as it was before with the Chase Center behind it and Kelly's Mission Rock to the side of it wit the new lighting. That pier used to be very dark at night with the old lighting.

By the way, I was at Agua Vista today, the usual suspects were there but no hali or striper. I walked past the Chase center and caught a bunch of black perch, all released.

I guess I'll just go ahead and "spill the tea" about the young man in the photos. He does "work" at Chase Center. And although it's hard to see in the pics, the guy stands 7 feet tall and has a 7'4" wingspan. He's probably one of the very few Bay Area pro athletes that fishes locally, and he's definitely the only one that I've heard of fishing a Bay shoreline spot.

Shhhh but I've also seen JTA at the pier. His condo is right by Spark Social.

“He” does look tall now that you called attention to his height. Huh, the telltale rod holders (garbage can handles) are still there (I see them in the photos) at Agua Vista.
