So I didn't fish as much as I planned, didn't get any bites when I was fishing.
Port San Luis Pier didn't see much action from the pier at all. Saw one good sized
jacksmelt caught (it was a real chunky jacksmelt). Boaters and kayakers brought in
mix of rockfish. Walking along the rockwall and shore on either side of the pier didn't
see so much as a nibble.
Gaviota beach showed some better results. Decent sized rockfish caught on squid
(none by me) and shrimp as well as one very chunky BSP which actually rivaled the
rockfish in size. Pier is still closed but beach access is very convenient both along
the sand and the rocks with excessive rock hopping and scrambling not required.
