Balboa Pier 3/3

With the nice weather and day off, needed some r&r. Fished from 2 to 5. Water is still very dirty. Also seem like a piling is missing/broken off from the storms? If you do surf fishing, there's a lot of structures now. I caught a handful of small Macks and this little guy. New for me. No idea what it is. Others also caught sardines. It was a great day at the beach except the traffic.

At first glance, the head did look like a lizard fish but didn't know the body was translucent. It was about 3 inches. Thanks for the ID. I hope this is not a sign of things to come. When they are around, it's the only thing I seem to catch.

It's been a while since I've caught or seen a lizardfish. I think they look gnarly. I do hear they make good bait for halibut.

Hey BL, may I ask how the volume of macs were? I need to catch some lobster bait now that all the bait barges are down and nachos literally came off his anchor during the storm.
Thank you for the report!

They were around here and there. Def not WO. You had to find them. Best spot seems to be always the left corner at the end. The viet guys with 12 foot rods with 10 green sabikis were getting some really big ones.
