Yeah, fished with Bob Griffin @ the Antioch Bridge Pier. Really slow, and weak tides. Bob says they should pick up in a couple weeks. I may fish Grizzly Island Pier today (maybe Belden’s Landing and the Salt Gates).

I stopped by Balboa for a couple hours from about 7:30am-10am. Nothing for me or anyone else in sight, about a dozen or do scattered people/groups fishing. I caught a few smelt in the surf to use as bait, could not find any kind of fin bait anywhere else on the pier. Not even a nibble. A group was leaving around the same time i got there, they said they got there at 4:30am- they had a small bucket with small 10” or so skinny mackerel, and a half dozen giant smelt bigger than the macs. They said it has been really slow and tough to even get those on their baited 12 hook (or more?) sabikis. I did manage to help a kid retrieve his dropped rod with my sabiki, thats all i caught lol

I tried point arena pier during the thanksgiving week for no avail. I fished two hours in AM. Three other anglers at the end of the pier with cut sardines. I tried for two hours with hi lo rig with various hook sizes and different part of the pier. Used cut squids and octopus. No actions at all. Two days later I fished at a rock in sea ranch. Dozen striped sea perch and one keeper male kelp greenling were found on the same setups.
