A story I wrote in 2007 while a member of the North Central Coast Marine Life Protective Act committee. It was written for fellow committee members and is probably hard to understand if you weren't on that committee. The characters to some extent were based on real people (names changed) and the questions were what would be the long term results of our decisions and the act itself. What and who would it help and hurt? Would our actions help save the fisheries? Only time would tell. Here it is 18 years later and I think the results have been mixed.
