Yep. Heard it's become a madhouse. There are reliable reports of the location becoming so crowded that some of the anglers are arriving earlier than 3am and sleeping at the pier to make sure they get a primo spot!

Here's another "odd" photo recently posted on social media. And just like last year's photo, this one's a "Frankenstein". There are at least two different locations in the photo that have been stitched together so that they appear to be a single spot somewhere along the San Francisco waterfront.

Does anyone have more information about pier 45 in San Francisco? Didn't know it was a "public pier". I had always assumed you needed a license because of commercial fishing operations at the pier. Is the whole pier open to fishing or just a small section?
