    10/3 7th St Pier

    Arrived at the pier around 10:30 in the morning to find a couple of regulars who informed me the striper bite was slow and there had been a lot of rays. My girlfriend and I caught shiner perch and smelt for bait and started fishing by 11:30, with three rods with live bait and one with dead smelt...

    Capitola Pier is now open.

    I went the other week for the first time, saw one mackerel landed off the end but not much action besides that. Caught a lot of smelt on the bobber while targeting mackerel and nothing on live bait.

    Construction at the Ferry Point Pier in Richmond

    We will see what this does to the perch fishing. This pier has provided me with the greatest variety of perch in the east bay, walleyes, pogies, white perch even pile perch and rubberlip. Hoping the fish hang around!
