"Big Rich" McIntosh

Some of you might remember "Big Rich" McIntosh who fished quite a bit with Robert (Redfish) and Brian (Illcatchanything) and who attended many of the PFIC/UPSAC events (especially the Mud Marlin Derbies). I had first known Rich when I lived in Boonville. I owned the Horn of Zeese restaurant and his father was the man I called whenever I had refrigeration problem. Often when his father was working at the restaurant he, his twin brother, his sister, and his mother Betty would be sitting at the counter talking to me while his father worked on the equipment. Later, I saw him as a student at Anderson Valley H.S. when I was teaching. Imagine my surprise years later when he began to show up at the PFIC events. He died a couple of years ago and I attended the cermony where his ashes were scattered under the direction of Brian. I once again saw his mom and got a chance to talk to his sister (who's now a teacher) and meet her family. I hear this morning that his sister's home was lost to the fire in Redding. She and her husband were in Washington at the time but his mother was at the home and just barely escaped with her life. It's hard to imagine what they are going through. Ken,

It has been 1 year and 4 months. Rich passed on April 15, 2017.

Roberta is just now retiring I believe from teaching.

Curt and Roberta were in Montana when the Redding fire hit and took out their house and all of their belongings. Rich’s mother Betty was there but made it out alive.

They are renting a house. Roberta’s cell # is the same.
