Lazy Sierra Slam

When I am not stoking local piers and jetties, I sometime find myself in mountains. These are from South Fork San Joaquin River vicinity in Sierra National Forest and Kings Canyon Nation Park. I practice Tenkara fly fishing that is very much suitable for playing with trout in high gradient streams like those. If you have heard about the techinque a little, you may think that it is only for minnows. Think twice. In this trip last week, the same set-up landed a foot-and-half brown beauty just like the top right one. This is not techinically a sierra slam though since I did this over a course of three days covering many miles and elevation gains. So I call it "Lazy" Sierra Slam. Nonetheless mountains beautiful and trout&me happy -FN
