Please take a look at the following and share your thoughts. It offers up a video on the pier BUT also still has connection to the actual (usually long) article and to PFIC itself (under show more at the bottom).

It tries to give a feel for the pier and surroundings. Give me some feedback. Of course that will mean filming 100+ piers so I'll need to figure that out. I may need some help!

Nicely done. I like the easy music.

Who filmed it?

I have taken the ferry. It reminded me of my youth in Istanbul.

If it is yours, we should subscribe and click on "like".

This was a test and the video was filmed by webmaster Rich Reano. He has said he is willing to film most of the piers in San Diego. We'll go from there. The films will be designed to be an additional part of the story of each pier.

As for the, music I have some ideas.

Pretty cool video.

Take your time on filming the 100+ piers. No rush.
I agree, don't kill yourself trying to get all done, but I think it would be awesome! I would also LOVE some information about how to fish the specific piers!

Let me know if you want any help with filming, writing, camera work or editing. I am totally willing to help. :)

Thanks for the offer! Once we work on it a little more, and decide on all the basics, we should be able to start. As for the information on how to fish the piers it would be nice to fit that into the video.

Cool video and well put together, but i think it should be a little more informative and directional as opposed to the artsy kinda feeling from the close up shots of peoples rears, pigeons and signs, i think you need to pan back a bit to give reference to their locations. The slow motion makes it look like a Cialis commercial. Maybe a voice over with a short description of locations? I think if you can get wider shots, the viewer would get a better feel of the pier before even visiting. Just my opinion.
Huell Howser would have been the perfect host to your show! We need someone like that on the videos!

i miss fishing there. 10-20 years ago i went all the time, usually easier to drive up from Chula Vista with the traffic. Traffic is horrible these days especially the morning commute with the military workers. And the area has tons of tourists and is pretty much so gentrified you kinda feel out of place. good thing fishing is a part of San Diego's atmosphere and culture, unlike other places.

My secret technique was to cast towards the channel using surf grubbing technique to get the bottom fish. Also right at the beginning part of the pier fly line a minnow or smelt for bass, halibut, etc. Even fly fishing (nymphing).

I’m glad you are finally decided to take the dive into YouTube. You’ll look back a couple of years from now and question why you didn’t do it sooner. Pierfishing.com is making a big comeback.
You got this.

I personally don‘t like that approach Ken. Too much of a travel log type of video. What t actually showed me, was a pier I want to stay away from.
The video that was done for you was by the DFW was more of a fisherman’s video.
