Pacifica Pier damaged, closed indefinitely

Thanks for the information even though it's sad to see that damage has once again been inflicted on the pier. The big winter tides have done their damage once again. And, if you look at the January Pier Report, it was amazing to see the size of the waves hitting the CenCal piers.

yeah it came as no surprise that the pier got damaged that badly. Earlier this month and last month I was seeing some of the waves that had hit the pier and it was cresting almost at the top, extremely turbulent. Kinda ironic that during that time i had seen those waves I was wondering how a structure could even withstand the force of those waves...guess it can't

Thank you for information. Are the beaches next the pier closed? Lockdown or otherwise?
As of the most recent articles regarding lockdown, no beaches are closed and fishing is one of the approved outdoor activities. Obviously that goes without saying that before you go you should be watching the swells. I think it was either a couple of weeks ago that 2 people got swept out, unsure if they were fisherman.
