11/20/20 Antioch pier quick report

#1
Friday my son and I fished the antioch pier from 2:20-5pm. Had some nibbles but no takers. Saw plenty of small stripers caught with either anchovies or grass shrimp.
We were using large hooks and whole anchovies and shad hoping to catch a keeper striper while avoiding hooking some of the 10-16 inch fish being caught.
Great weather. Good times with my son.

Your son is blessed indeed to have a dad that takes him fishing. Thanks for the report. And a special thanks for being a good father.
Thanks for the kind words. I am the one who is blessed to have a son like him. He is awesome and we go fishing as much as possible. Haven’t been on a pier in a log time. It was to get out again. Reminds me of growing up in San Diego.

Thanks for the report! Sardine chunks can do well there to get to the bigger fish out of the cut baits. The shad works well when it is fresh. If it is frozen, things like cutting off the head and spraying it with BANG shad scent can help. Nice outing!
