Martinez Pier 12/7

Had a nice weather window this morning so I fished Martinez Pier for sturgeon / stripers from 9a-1:30p until the rain picked up.

Fished lamprey/pile worm/ghost shrimp combo off the left side w/ an 8oz spiked sinker; had one pump that I missed the hookup on.

Steady pick until around 11:45 for 7 fisherman (mostly using grass shrimp/lamprey combos): 3 stripers/one keeper, one shaker sturgeon, one sand shark.

Around noon a guy fishing to my right had a good hookup and landed a 47” keeper sturgeon on an anchovy (pic attached) - he was beyond thrilled and it was very cool to see one of that size landed on my second sturgeon trip.

No bites after that and rain picked up so I called it - will be back tomorrow if the weather is nice!

Nice and thanks for the report! I was given the same report of one shaker and one keeper for the pier from Martinez Bait. I didn’t get out and fish this past weekend.

Went back on Sunday from 8:30a-1:30p, only had two missed bites (likely both stripers) the whole time despite better weather. The other three fisherman off the left side got nada.

Fished eel/ghost/anchovy combo, most of the other folks were fishing grass/ghost combos.
