Hat to......and I mean HAD TO get out of the house and get OUTSIDE today.....Even just for a little while....was going a little cabin Crazy looking at the same walls all the time.......Work, eat, sleep, REPEAT, is all I seem to DO anymore.

Hit Fort Baker just before 10:30am......think the tide was outgoing........Fished GULP Camo Sandworms hoping for perch......NADA.....Switched out to try for dabs and only came home with 4 small ones.....Barely enough for a meal.....MIGHT have shot myself in the foot by sticking to the GULP Sandworms, but they stay on the hook pretty damn well.......My GO-TO for Dabs is usually SQUID....But it is just too damn expensive these days.......One perch (a white I think) caught while I was there.........NO JACKSMELT.......I caught a TINY Brown Rockfish and the little BLEEP stung the HELL out of me while I was trying to unhook it.......Crabbing POOR.......Porpoises.....A LOT OF THEM......Real close to the pier, which was cool........

Just not enough fish to make the trip worth wile ........ It WAS a SUCCESSFUL TRIP........I caught TARGETED SPECIES.......but......

-Thanks for the report! And wish I could’ve been there as I still have 2# of fresh squid from a 3# box of Wild Pacific brand that I got at the 99. Surprising that there were no smelt about.
-The Eastbay has been devoid of fish since the storm last Saturday. Presumably too much freshwater and low water temperatures.
-View from my office where all my squid came back untouched. So fresh, the crabs have moved out. Wish I would have measured the freshwater content with my hydrometer. F84C04B8-B39F-47C1-AFF7-68FB9039F13D.jpeg

I fished the area pictured on Friday and got 1 jacksmelt, probably would have struck out if I was trying for anything else though.

$16.99 for 3 pounds of the stuff locally .......I PAY LESS FOR GROUND BEEF
Yeah, it went up in the past few years for people who used to buy it at Safeway for $2.99 for 3# @ 1#. Then, it was at $2/lb with 3# $5.98.
In the Eastbay now, I paid $4/lb @ Ranch 99 El Cerrito (Richmond Annex), so $12 for 3#.

I definitely divided into 1# increments so it’s not defrosted/refrozen/defrosted the entire lot.

Squids definitely gotten way more expensive. I've thought about buying the mackerel looking fish from the asian markets, not sure how well they'll do

SKUNKED........My friend managed one big dab, 2 small dabs, and a buffalo sculpin......I saw one jacksmelt caught.......That was about it......Crabbing sucked for just about everybody.......Have to think it is all about the salinity at the moment.

Surprise visit by a Bib-Overalled Songlinger.......Which is always entertaining.......He did a little better on the Fort Baker Jetty but I will let him post his own report......

And YES GLEN.......I still say COMMIEFORNIA.........LOL

I was testing out new gear in Emeryville. that beach is full of c+*&^. lots of junk
It can only get better from here. Thank God I am too busy at work to fish until after the 15th. By then, something should be warming up to bite along with the first day of spring on the horizon. The heck with the groundhog LOL....
