Bonito lures...

So most of the metal spoons I've used for bonito have been in the mackerel pattern. I'm not sure if it really matters. The bonito is moving through the water at a pretty heady clip and probably only sees a momentary flash he reacts to.

Hi, my favorite rig is high and low hooks 1 foot apart, with 2.5 minnow Lunkercity fin s fish, and 20g Jigpara slow sardine pattern on the bottom, true story was jigging on top and got a legal Halibut one time, weird!!! Lately the bonito will just want to eat real bait, so a 3" jacksmelt freeline is the best bait.

Cool rig! Never tried fly lining a smelt for bonito. I'll try it next time! Thanks for the tips!
