Might as well throw out some more history on this shark trip...
BTW-90# coated wire is really the minimum if you want to consider yourself seriously fishing for sharks with teeth... 60# coated wire I have had shredded by almost five-footer, but got in. You could see where there was just a few thread holding 'em. Shallower depths, they don't have as much time or opportunity to roll-up and bite through the line as when they are in 30, 50..deeper feet of water. And, shallow water you can get away with a shorter trace, maybe even as short as a three-foot sturgeon leader whereas, deeper, 10, 13' or more is where it's at for the roll-up factor.
