We had a great time today at Balboa Pier. We had lots of halibut, but only one keeper landed. My brother caught that keeper. Randy landed two very large female shovelnose guitarfish in the surf. There were lots of mackerel caught everywhere around the pier. Our bait was wonderful. We had lots of different size smelt, queenfish, Spanish jacks and sardines. The halibut wanted everything. It was a beautiful day but windy this afternoon. The water temperature was about 66 degrees. This is a day we have been waiting for.
