Craziness at Venice Pier yesterday!!!

Went fishing yetserday from dawn to about noon at Venice pier. Was anything but a productive morning, when at about 11 am someone had hooked a large Thresher shark. The fish took around the end of the pier back and forth several times, Then not even 5 minutes later two more reels were zipping. One was lost but one was hooked. The second one put on a show! The fish breached, and I swear I've never seen anything larger break the surface. Pretty soon a crowd was in complete awe, even saw a KTTV 11 helicopter hovering above the pier during the commotion.
The second thresher was about 8 feet long I'd say including the tail.
Was anyone else out there yesterday? I have never in my life seen such action on a pier, it was INSANE!
