the piers this year down south? Records at Newport show good runs at the piers in September ‘99, July-August ‘02 and May-June in 2007. This year's been a cold-water year so far but I'm not sure if that is a plus or minus as far as inshore action on the big cephalopods. It would be fun to get a shot at them even if their appearance does lead to crowding at the piers.
