Jordona Santiago of Martinez Bait & Tackle is reporting good sturgeon fishing this week.  Looks like the winter striper run we were having has ended.  Several sturgeon were brought to the scale despite the weather conditions.  Several were caught but not weighed in.  Bad news for the opening of the salmon season but, keep in mind that the best sturgeon months last year were April and May.  The best tides for the upcoming weekend are the early morning outgo.  Carl Moyer of Concord caught the only reported striper weighing in at 20 lbs. and 34".  It was caught at bouy 6 on ghost shrimp.  Mitch Harper of Martinez caught an 80" sturgeon with an estimated weight of 140 lbs. (released) at the mouth of Montezuma slough on ghost shrimp.  Carlo Panetta of San Ramon caught a 70"/ 92 lb. sturgeon at the Big Cut on a ghost/eel combo.  Next week that fish will be an oversized sturgeon!  Jeff Norton of Vacaville caught a 65"/ 70 lb. sturgeon at the mouth of Montezuma on ghost shrimp.  John Guidotti of Martinez caught a 61"/ 48.1 lb. sturgeon at Montezuma as well on ghost shrimp.  J
