They got stuff to rent at ten bucks, I believe, but you can also use a seven ft. spinning outfit if it has at least 15 lb. test on it. But the cpt. recommends conventional set ups.

You can also save some money by hitting up the bait shops and buying the three way live bait rigs. Way cheaper than buying them from the boat. Don't forget the cannon ball weights in the 4-8oz...

I'll give cpt. ted a call tomorrow and see when he's going out again.

I'm aiming for the 16-17 and then again on the 23-24th. That way James and MtnViewFisher can both get out on the trip.

The 17th of this month is the Kehoe thing...So I would have to pass, but that is a great price. Where is the bout out of anyway. Might get expensive at todays gas prices and bridge fare.

Throw me a bone.

Wouldn't want to cut into the Kehoe action. But I'd love to take a 3hr ride on the Miss Farallones. Can we do a different day than the Kehoe event?

I can supply a few rods for boat use that should be just fine for rockfish and lings. I can bring 3 loaners for folks who need rods. Otherwise, a web search says they charge $10 for rental.

There's a project to take a dinky 4 ft stick and turn it into a short boat rod for a kid. Soft glass blank and short enough to be manageable.

BCooney gave me the idea with a project of his I had the privilege to work on. I don't know how that's going either, but it'd be cool to see it in action.

I wouldn't worry about the Kehoe guys. You overestimate the influence a party boat trip has on an event designed for light tackle perchers.

Okay fellas,
Lets do one on the 16th.
I'll give cpt. ted a call later this evening to set it up. He needs at least 10-12 guys to go out.
SO i'll tell him we have ten for sure, so bring a friend.

I'll be back with an answer from cpt. ted.

No worries, 'Slinger I want to see ya on the boat...
hehe

How many times a year do they hold such budget trips? I wonder if it worths buying a cheap setup instead of renting it.

Thanks!

They do it all the time, the cpt. just needs the right amount of heads to make it worth his while.

Now, so the boat is going out on the 16th, this saturday. Cpt. Ted said be there before 5:15am.
I told him I have a party of 12, so please repsond here with your answer so I can get a count for cpt. ted.

He told me he's been getting limits of bass right at mels reef. Which is a very short ride from the wharf. And a bunch of rockies up to 28lbs.

Let me know who needs three way live bait rigs, as fishery supply in san jose has em for like $1.50(?) for a package of two rigs. I can pick some up.

I'll be there.....where is it? I'm assuming it's in San Francisco Smile

I'll need a few rigs if you don't mind picking them up for me.

Anyone wanna ride up? I live in Mtn. View, if you can get pretty close to where I live (near the Mtn View train station) you can jump in the truck with me (I can fit up to 3 people).

Everyone interested please confirm as I need to give head count to cpt. ted.

No problem. Just email me and I'll give you directions, I only live about a mile away from GP.

I think GP has got plans for the weekend, but I'm not positive.
