I was able to wet a line while visiting family in Redding up in Nor Cal. Spent the entire week hoping to get a couple of hours to try out the old stomping grounds but with it being the holiday and me not seeing the family in about a year, it was hard to even find time to sleep. Regardless, I managed to get out but was only able to fish for 10-15 minutes. I remembered where I used to catch tons of trout with my friends and headed on over and to my surprise, nobody else was there fishing and the water being very low. I casted 1/4 oz gold castmassters and 1/2 oz spinners for no takers. Not even a bump. At least the view was better than the fishing. Other than the fishing, it was a very pleasant outing.

Was this over by the powerhouse? I went up there once (maybe twice) a few years ago and had a really good time and fishing was really good too.

We were fishing on the bank of the river, all was quiet and peaceful and all of a sudden we heard the very loud growl of a bear so we left.

I need to get out there again.

Sweet Tom, looks really fishy. Nice photos.

I need to get to fresh water more often. It is just hard to break the 100lbs mark on FW fish!

This was at Carr powerhouse. The current generated from this place is pretty strong and the water level could suddenly raise without notice. Still, it's a great spot for lures.

what do you use for 100 lb bluegills? 30 lb minnows?
