|First time here since December when my dog passed away and it was his favorite place. I used to tether him to my backpack or off leash and he would follow me as I fish. Been fishing here at Crissy since it was still a base. So sad memories here again but I did catch a couple of barred surf perch near the bend. Method was grubbing with small big hammer brand green motor oil flake whatever you call these things nowadays. 1/2 sliding egg on a fishfinder rig. incoming tide. Lots of smaller perch tugs. Last december i hooked into a small ling near the dredged channel that goes out towards the weird pagoda looking thing. On each side is seafood salad.
The structure is the same from the Trees to the Coast Guard station and torpedo warf/ fort point. Seaweed towards the west, and dogs to the east. The stringy brown invasive seaweed makes it hard to fish unless you keep it topwater or near the water's edge. The place should pick up soon with the game fish as it usually does year after year.
