I debated not posting this video because the audio was bad and I didn't catch any fish that were that spectacular. However, I think it is important to also show the days where fishing is tough and I managed to catch a few fish anyway. Winds on this day were some of the worst winds I have ever fished in, my guess is 30+mph. Despite the wind, I managed to catch a couple barred surf perch. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for sharing! Yeah the wind the past couple weeks has been pretty brutal in a lot of places and I'm impressed you stayed out as long as you did. When the wind is super up like that I typically head for the hills (or the cliffs).

Surf fishing in Nor Cal is tough enough without trying to withstand heavy winds. In my experience, it just is not worth suffering the abuse (of which there are many!) heavy winds will bestow on you for a few (OR NO) fish. Been there, done it a bunch of times, just not worth it!

I don't mind a little rain but strong winds will shut down my fishing.
