I wanted to catch my first fish of 2018 after work today, and fished about a half an hour at both stillwater cove pier, and near bird rock. caught a 12" undersized cabezon at stillwater pier, very red, thinking male. I then went to the rocks on 17 mile drive and got a blue/green 12" cabezon. I then caught my keeper, a 14" grass rockfish, as the tide was dropping, and it hit within seconds of the bait hitting the water... Fished from 130pm to 2pm at the stillwater pier, and 230 to 3pm on the rocks.
