Fishing sabiki's from the beach not too far from moss landing. Caught six nice ones in less than an hour yesterday mid day. Fish are usually out about as far as you can cast. Good size and no worms. First time ever eating them today, and they were quite tasty.

Yeah they good. I used to catch and eat them when I was a kid. Back then they had no worms even in the bay. Maybe I wasnt looking for them haha. Id fillet them, dredge in flour salt and pepper and fry. No complaints from anyone

Some people do not like jacksmelt because of the worms you see when you fillet them. But most fish have worms, these worms in the jacksmelt are not harmful, and the fish are perfectly fine to eat after cooking.

Some say it's simply extra protein.
