The Pacific (Northern or Californian) anchovy has a lot of large scales which not very tasty Smile ... . Cleaning them one by one with knife is boring task.
There is an easy way to rid scales before filleting?
Thanks

I scale all of my smaller catches (sardines, mackeral) the same way. I leave them in the bucket and take a water hose with a nozzle to them. Doesn't have to be one of those super high pressure hoses, just something that will spray water hard. It's pretty efficient if you have 30 sardines that you want to scale at the same time.

This trick also works well for salmon.
