Hi Folks

Just wondering if anybody knows a source for a rod holder of the type in the pic below?

I am looking for something compact and light to take on holiday..

I am looking for something I can use on a jetty or harbour side where there is no railing or wall...

At hpme I used a tripod for beach fishing, but it is far too big and heavy to pack on a plane...

Thanks in advance,

Peter

There is a website AliExpress.com that has a lot of things of this sort. You might find something there.

Do a google search on carp fishing rod holders. There are all kinds of them out there.

Thanks folks, I tried Aliexpress but couldn't find anything similar. The rod pods the carp anglers use tend to hold the rod parallel to the water and/or quite complex/bulky for packing in a suitcase.

I have two options at the moment..one is a mini tripod I already have, but is not particularly stable and again is a bit bulky...

The other is make a DIY bucket mounted PVC tube holder...I am thinking I could make the tube holder over here and then just get hold of a suitable bucket when I arrive at the resort in Greece.

The reason I asked on these boards is with the popularity of fishing off piers, jetty's and docks ect in the States, I thought there might already be something suitable out there...

Thanks again,

Peter

This reminds me a bit of the Rod-Runner Pro which is both a holder and a carrier. I haven't used one but it looks like it might work for your situation.
