>> Rockfishing in June [topic: previous/next]

I took two fishing/camping trips for several days in June. Weather was terrible, but the fishing was good. As you know, I am a very vanilla fisherman. I use a 11 ft conventional rig with 30lb test line and a single hook leader with 3-4oz sinkers. If a 4oz doesn’t hold bottom, it’s probably too rough to catch anything anyway. My only bait was fresh smelt and squid and I caught fish on both. If anyone has any ideas for keeping squid frozen longer when away from home, let me know.

I caught several nice 28inch lings and the rockfish were all 14 - 15 inches - good eating size. I only fished early in the morning because the wind got too strong or the water too rough. Though I was only out a couple of hours, I usually got a couple of fish.

6/13 a nice ling

6/14 grassies

6/15 another nice ling and a grassie

6/16 a couple nice grassies

6/27 and even more grassies

I did catch one big grassie, about 19”. Too nice of fish to keep so I released him and it was hard getting him back in the water without going in myself. But a wave finally came and took him out.

and the lone cab for the month.

6/28 One more ling

And the food: We ate a lot of fish last month. Here are just a couple of examples.

Summer is salad time, so a pan seared fish with a taco salad

and the old standby, a fish po’boy sandwich

Help! What's going on with my pictures? I just spent an hour setting up my pictures on photobucket and it wouldn't let me post them all? Anybody else have this problem?

Photobucket is garbage, should never ever be used.

Just use imgur next time.

They are holding my pictures hostage too.

They wanted something like $300.00 to let me post my old pictures.

Good thing I have other websites to store and post pictures.

Dang FD. Too bad about those pictures. I really want to see them. Sounds like you had a great month of fishing on the coast. 28 inches is a nice ling. Where did you camping?

Yeah I'm pretty mad at Photobucket for this BS too! I've shared thousands of photos over the last 10+ years on various websites, blogs, etc. and they're all gone now. Unless I pay photobucket $399 to enable "third-party linking." Which is total crap. I'm in the process of migrating my albums to imgur, but can't go back to edit all of my old posts to make the photos appear again. And I doubt anybody else will pay their extortion fee. So, now there will be tens of thousands of website forum posts with missing photos...from auto repair to fishing to construction to .... where the posts will be pretty useless without the accompanying photos. Sad

How difficult is it to have the PFIC site host photos? Other forums I frequent have this and it works well.

I just upload pictures straight to the site from my computer. The only problem is that I often have to resize the pictures before uploading. Perhaps when we get the new site set up we can increase the size.

I too always look forward to your pictures!
