Went down to the water during the low tide with a big hammer swimbait. Tossed for about 30 minutes till I found the hole. First hookup was an almost legal striper and put up a fun little fight. The next cast was 20 in. halibut which peeled some drag. The last fish I hooked was a beautiful 14 in. barred perch. All these fish hit in an about hour.

What size jighead were you using if you don't mind me asking? Never had much success throwing swimbaits into the surf from shore unless it's a real rocky area and I'm targeting rockfish, but seeing that striper and a butt from the same session has got my attention Smile

Looks like a red Big Hammer jighead. I use the same jigheads. I'd guess either 3/4oz or 1oz.

What size was your swimbait? 3, 4, 5"?

If you don't mind could you share the general location? something like Ocean Beach would be fine or south of HMB, or Marin, etc. would be fine.

Bwahahahahah...

Looks like it's in the bay. Don't usually see green sea lettuce in exposed locations.

If you gotta protect a spot that produced shakers and a perch so be it. I wouldn't tell either haha
