|I've said for some time that when my time is up, I would prefer to die quickly of a heart attack fighting a big 'ol mud marlin (bat ray) from the end of a pier. This guy didn't have a heart attack but he could have died from this encounter with a mud marlin.
Longtime Tustin resident Isador Greenbaum is in Hoag Hospital following an encounter with a 100-pound stingray [bat ray] hooked from the Newport Beach Pier. At 80, he’s sporting a variety of stitches, including a rebuilt nose, after he and his wheelchair became entangled with fishing gear.
