Hey folks,

I'm finally getting to wet a line for the first time in 2017 tomorrow. I'm going to head over to the Morro/Cambria area to do some surf fishing in the am, and then I'm going to try a few spots for rock fishing in the mid day to afternoon. Its my first shot at rock fishing from shore so I'm looking at it mor4e as a learning thing than a catching thing, but I'm fine with that. Got to lose some tackle to get going I'm sure.

What I wanted to ask is I was thinking of ending the day with some pier fishing at either Morro Bay or Cayucos Piers. I'm really more interested in catching perch and stuff around the pilings, but I'll have some gear to cast some bigger baits as well. Anybody care to share any advice on which one to try and any specific type of rigs to use? I've pier fished before, but I'm not above asking those with more experience for some advice.
