Fished the local planter lake this morning and got a limit of small DFG planters, some on rainbow powerboat and some on mice tails. Limited by 9:45am, which was good, as it was already getting hot. Also missed a couple bites and CnR'ed a 3-4 lb catfish.

Salty.

Caught trout #5 after I cleaned #1-4, so didn't get a pic of all five fish. Don't be a hater!

All right... Jeff! I am still looking for my first trout of Quarry. I have never fished there at sunrise either... It is always late afternoon.
I am going to put Quarry on my list for the winter.

Should get better in the winter, Robert - with the cooler water temps. Fish should be more active and taste better (noticed a slight 'mossy' taste with warmer water now). I've never fished afternoon, just mornings - but low light conditions are usually best. Try mice tails and powerbait.

You always do well at Quarry Lakes. What is a mouse tail? Do you get them at Petco?

LOL. A "mouse tail" is a trout lure that looks like an egg with a tail.

Salty why didn't you keep the catfish? To me that's the best tasting one you caught.

I'm just not a fan of catfish, although it was the biggest fish I caught.
Lol! Micetails from Petco, good one Walt.
