Was able to sneak to within 25 yards of this 3x3 using trees to block his line of sight, moving very slowly. I thought I had hit him a tad back, so I backed out and called a buddy. When he arrived we found a good bloodtrail and this guy expired at the base of a small Oak about 80 yards from point of impact. Shooting a Bowtech at 60lb with rage chisel tips (love these broadheads) Very excited to have venison. Already validated, cleaned, skinned and quartered on ice. Today was a good day.

Thanks fellas, he's not the biggest buck, but he had a nice sized body and will feed my family for a few months. Everyone loves it. Steaks, backstrap, loin and the rest into ground. I'm going to smoke the ribs.

Gotta have much respect for someone who can take an animal with a bow. That takes some serious skill.

Awesome. It not only takes knowledge to hunt but to dress your kill. I wish I had both... Good job Bigun'!!!

Bagging a buck with a bow requires extreme hunting skills. Congrats on the buck and for the nice pic!

Congrats! Know nothing about hunting, but agree that bow vs. gun must be a require a high level of skill / challenge. It takes me long enough to clean fish, I can't imagine how much work it is to clean & dress a buck.

Salty.

Thanks guys, this is only my second big game animal taken with a bow. I've put in a lot of time this season trying to make it happen. I've seen a lot of deer and a big bear already this year, and am leaving for rifle deer camp tomorrow.

It's very tough to get within range of a deer with a bow. This guy was feeding with two does, the does noticed me but did not alarm (they do a weird exhale cough/bark). I used some trees to block my approach, and moved very slowly.

It's a lot of work to field dress, skin and butcher the buck, but the meat in the freezer is worth all of it.

Awesome buck bro. My grouping is getting tighter. Once I'm confident, I'd like to try my luck and hopefully get one too.
