I recently purchased a Penn Fierce 7000 and when I reel in and then stop, the (i'm not sure what the name of it is) part of the reel outside of the spool which spins around to put the line on reel, keep spinning, is this because of the way you are supposed to but the handle on the reel? (you dont spin the "cap thingy" on the side, but you spin the actual handle the opposite direction you reel it in. Can some one please help me with this because I don't what to return the reel.

there should be a switch on the rotor that enables the roller bearing to stop or to keep spinning. when you stop winding does it go backwards? if so it is the switch. if not something else is wrong. you will need to return it at that point.
