Under a hundred? Hmmmm.... Maybe a big penn fierce for spinning... Conventional is a hard one... All I can think of are old models or good used second hand stuff, if you can get sombody to sell for less than $100..

Do you know if the squidder reels by penn are good for casting? I heard the spool goes too fast and wont stop, and you always get backlashes.

Yep.. yep.. Good casting reel... I own 5 of them... When you perfect your cast, it can be awe inspiring watching the line just peel off the reel...

Yep, I can hit some legit 100 yard casts with thw Penn 140 Squidder (with a weight).

If you can throw a coventional reel, a Squidder or

Jigmaster is the best casting reel you can get under $100.
