Picked up this reel at a local garage sale in the neighborhood. Anybody have/experienced using this reel? Was unable to find much info on the internet. Just on one site they say it's a "rare" one. Gonna take it in this week to have it serviced.

I have one of those. I got it used also. I fish 20# mono in it... I think the TLD 5 is a much more rarer reel...

I forgot to add: I don't use it for casting, not that you can't; It's just not optimized for casting since it's a lever drag...

I have several of the tld 15's. They have been great reels for 20 years now. Not sure I would use braid on them but great for mono. They actually cast as well as a jigmaster or other comparable sized/price ranged reel. I think the 10 is actually rarer than the 5. A lot of socal guys use the 5 as a light line marlin casting reel.

If that $15 is accurate you got a great deal. Usually go for around $50 on Ebay.
