despite the high wind predictions I decided to call in sick for work and call a buddy to try for some hali's. Got live chovy's and got on the pier @6a just passed the 2nd cleaning station.(btw saw fakefisherman getting on the goldeneye but didn't get a chance to say "hi") sure enuff it was almost too windy, but by 10a or so it calmed down to only a soft howl. 10:30a I get a nice take down, followed by a nice chunky 25" hali being invited home for dinner. much thicker than the usual for that size and weighed in at 12lbs. right before we left the guy next to us caught a gorgeous 34" hali. other than those I only saw 4 others caught by 2p when we left. catch U all sat night at the derby!

I see many people casting out chovies. Does that do any damage to them? Or is it just best to drop them?
