Baker Beach
Nov 2nd From open til we can't fish any more
Crab snaring
This is not an official PFIC get together but myself, my son and a few others will be fishing the beach for the opener. If you guys wish to join us, come on out.
If you guys want to make it a potluck post your interest. I will bring a grill.

I have heard the crab coming up in the scientists pots have been big and plentiful. The guys I spoke with are trapping other creatures for study ad have been getting crab as a bonus catch.
hope to see you guys there.

On a side note I will have Sofa King Snares for sale. Order now before I run out.
Thanks
S.K.

I'm interested in your snares too, same questions as radlations and rudesvx! Let me know, I heard your snares are deadly!

One week to go!
I am getting hungry for some crab.
How about you guys?
Anybody interested in doing a potluck this year?
Maybe a breakfast style one? The crab tides aren't til after 10am.
Post here any interest for potluck.
Hope to see you there.

Sat is as rough as it can be for good snaring. I am going to follow the swell predictions and if it gets any worse we we are going to move down to HMB.
I will keep you posted for final conditions on Friday.
I use:
http://www.swellinfo.com/surf-forecast/ocean-beach-california

for my prediction tools and use:
http://www.surfline.com/surf-forecasts/spot/fort-point_5015/

For my final decision maker.
If Ft Point shows more than 4ft its too rough at Baker.
I'm hoping it calms down just a bit for Sat.

Are you saying best tide for crab snaring is at the top of a tide?

Gonna brave the black Friday crowd at Pacifica on Saturday morning. My bro and I usually get there around 4ish and hang out with the crowd til the gates open. Then it's run like hell to your favorite spot on the pier and cast away! It's maddening. But always wild to do this once a year.

Will follow up with end results report afterwards. Good luck at Bakers and thanks again for the traps! rudy

For me at Baker it is the outgoing tide.
At HMB its the incoming tide.

Saturday: WNW wind 7 to 12 kt increasing to 14 to 19 kt in the afternoon. Mostly sunny. Mixed swell...W 3 ft at 14 seconds and SSW 1 ft at 15 seconds. Wind waves 1 to 3 ft

Swells aren't that bad but the wind is a lil high. Do you think it will still be do-able?
