|Few days ago I went perching the incoming tide on a cool, overcast morning, uncommon to San Diego.
I was new to the area and noticed most of the shoreline to be flat. But in a moment I spied a hole and threw out to it. The waves were a little rough and I kept my distance. In an hour I only managed a couple of small Barred surf perch, both released.
bait: sand crab fly
gear: 9wt sinking/shooting head
right now I believe there is a grunion run in the area but I have returned to Norcal.
