went fishing with my brother, the nephews and niece. I got the bait with the cast net, nephews wouldn't let the bait soak enough to catch anything, niece got a good bite while filming with Gopro and talking about the crab she caught. Fish was to big for her to reel in so she passed the pole to me. video on youtube shows the rest of the action. Didn't see anybody else catch anything other than bait.

Awe man that was sick. So funny how she was still talking about her crab and stuff. Too bad you guys couldn't net it, still awesome though, looks like the kids were stoked.

Hey, Mudsucker. I think I saw you today right as I was leaving. Your nephew showed me his crab and you told me about the Guitarfish. That was a pretty big fish. I've never seen anyone land those on the pier. I think it would've been easier to swing the crab net back and forth, drop it further out and let the net run back under the fish instead of trying to pull the fish into the net. I have seen many fish lost this way. I have lost fish this way with someone else manning the net. Now, I net all my own catches, one hand on the crab net line and one hand on my rod. That was a very nice fish.

P.S. Tell that guy not to feel too bad about his ripped net (that was pretty funny, by the way, because the net looked like it was made of 5 lb. mono). My cast net got snagged today.

Pretty cool, the kids were stoked. What a nice day out there. I agree with the nettin though, that guy had a real flimsy net and I've lost one of my nicest halibut in the same situation. I still give my friend a tough time to this day.

Nice outing with the family Tony! We a had good time Saturday as well as you can see from the below report. Beautiful weather, but I couldn't get a bartray to bite at the very end and the winning one came at 2 minutes to midnight. See ya at the Yakhopper event.
