The following are the dates of the Kid's Fishing Derbies we plan to do this year. Let us know if you can help out.

Berkeley Pier—6/23

Avila Pier — 7/7

Paradise Beach Pier (or possibly the Marin Rod & Gun Club Pier if we can get it) — 7/21

Oceanside Pier—8/4

It's at Berkeley Pier Saturday June 23rd. From 10am to 1pm.

The 22nd is a Friday.

Should be a great turnout.

Even more than our other events, we need a lot of help with the kids derbies. I shoot for 1 experienced (or even semi-experienced) adult angler for every 6 kids.

A lot of these kids that come to our derbies have never fished before. We supply them with loaner rods, bait & rig the rods for them, so it is a lot of work but is very rewarding knowing that you helped get a kid hooked on fishing and hopefully off the streets. At last years Berkeley Pier Derby we had a lot of great help but even so, we could barely keep up.

We do not ask much of our members and we provide this wealth of fishing info free to any who ask to join (and will follow the rules).... please consider giving back 1 day so that we can help ensure the future of our sport.

Thanks all. For the NorCal derbies (Berkeley & Paradise or Marin) please contact myself, Sofa King or Ken. For the Avila derby please contact Ken or (I believe) Santa.

We also need donations of food (hot dogs, buns, chips, juice boxes/pouches).

Please help if you can!!

Normally we do most fish caught. For Kids they really dont care what they catch (especially those who have never fished before or have fished very little). We do make sure every kid goes home with a prize.
