I admit, I am a lurker. I've been to busy with work and have not done enough fishing. So i've just been lurking during my lunch break at work. My coworkers say I look at to much fish porn, so what I'm an addict lol.

This report is a skunk just so you all know. Like many have said. A skunk report is just as good as a productive one.So here goes. I arrived at Sherman Island at 12:30. Armed with 1/4 of grass shrimp and 1/2 dozen pile worms. Fished 2 poles with hi and lo. I was there from 12:30 to 6pm. I hooked and landed 1 shaker striper so back he went. It was just that one fish and millions of little taps all day. Half way through my fishing session. A group of 3 guys set up to the right of me. One of the guys first cast(5mins)he lands a shaker sturgeon. Sad thing was he had it out of the water waaaaaay to long.he had it out of the water for a good 5 minutes. He went to his car to look for his measuring tape. What for? The sturgeon was a shaker, no need to measure it. He then has his buddy snap a few photos and throws the fish back in the water. Poor fish just flops upside down and he tells his buddies "don't trip the fish is just resting". I was pretty mad but I was there alone so I had to keep myself cool and figure out a way to talk to them with out pissing them off. A few minutes go buy and I slowly make my way to them. I told them he was lucky. I've been here all day and caught one shaker. I then said be careful keeping any fish out of the water to long. Fish and game can write you up for it.Plus the fish probably won't survive. To my surprise, the one that caught the fish said "I didn't know that, thanks for letting me know. I don't want to kill any fish i'm not keeping and I don't want a fine". After that those guys were pretty cool. I was getting hungry so I packed up and headed home. Those guys even waved good bye. And about the sturgeon, I don't know if it swam off or the current took it away. I hope it survives.

I'm heading home up north to Humboldt county later this month. 99% I will most likely hit up the S.jetty. Will post a report then.

Sorry this report is a little long. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for sharing your experience Fusion...I think you handle the situation pretty well.
Let us know how your trip north turns out. Good luck man!

Hey all thanks for reading.

I can't wait to go back home to my old stomping grounds. I used to fish with Chris aka Clayman, how you doing brotha! I might even make my way further north to crescent city and fish. I heard rumors that stripers from Oregons Umqua river have been making a showing. I heard a few years back a 50" incher was caught in the gill nets by the local tribes on the Klamath. Either way I'm gonna be fishing. I just got my pluggin stick back from gloomis (I gotta say their service is awesome). I will definetly post a report then.
