I got the call Vic, who said this year's Shelter Island Kid's Derby is scheduled for Saturday August 11th.


If anybody can come and help, it would be very much appreciated.


I will be there of course for the tacos. However, since I am there, I might as well lend a hand too.


Looking forward to meeting some new PFIC members there.

We can car pool, but have to leave LA no later than 5:00 AM, to be there before 7:00 AM.

The first duty usually is to cut bait and bag them for the kids. After that score the cards when they catch fish.

Free delicious lunch and drinks.


We can fish afterwards around 2-3:00 PM.


They provide everything. Pictures for our report would be good. An apron to keep the cloths clean when cutting bait is helpful.

Its a saturday, SO I might not be working sounds good to me at 5 am, heck ive done that before. Driving down to San diego to grab the H&M fishing boat.

Sounds like fun! Yeah Im willing, Ill know my plans by mid july. But sounds like fun and as you said we can fish afterwards sounds better too.

Yeah burger, I live near the LAX airport Area, anywhere going south i can pick up like two or three people, I have a Jeep Liberty.

Just keep posting the Info. maybe we can get a crew going.

I have a jeep cherokee can pick up anyone going south from LAX Airport.

Can Leave about 5 am to arrive at the pier by 7 am to have breakfast and setup, if they are still having it, have not heard anything more recently.

Yes, it is most definitely needed and appreciated.

Please be there by 7:00 AM if at all possible to cut bait. We need to make a lot of small ziplock bags of bait before the 9:00 AM start time.


If can't be there that early, then later we could use with judging, however, bait bag preparation is most important.
